Even though the Housing Order has been lifted the advice is still to try to keep wild birds separate from your chickens as much as possible. To follow this advice we needed to move our chickens from their position under trees. With the heat and drought last summer we struggled to water all the veg we were growing in our poly tunnels, and many did not fare well in the heat. With talk of similar conditions this summer we decided to scale back our growing to just one poly and convert the remaining two into new homes for some of the chickens.
