Just popped the dogs down to the garden and heard the chickens, they’re protected from the rain with tarpaulin but are definitely not happy with the wind😕

Still experimenting with new foods, this time a sweetheart cabbage on a string ….

When we went back later …

All their grapes were gone👍🏻 But Clucky & the crew either didn’t like them or hadn’t worked it out because their container was still full

Today we tried them with grapes in a hanging caddy, they didn’t really get the hang of it but got plenty of exercise chasing each other!

It’s recommended that you give chickens sweetcorn and other beg particularly in the winter when they spend such long nights cooped up. We’ve been giving tinned sweetcorn which they’ve all taken to but now we’re trying them with cooked corn on the cob. This is Ginger & the gang tucking in

For the second evening in a row Ginger, Flossy, Scramble and Lofty have put themselves to bed, so we’re hoping they’re in a routine now ready for us to say good night and close them up till daylight. They’ve only been here for two weeks but they seem settled and happy and laying lovely eggs 🐓

Clucky, Hetty, Omlette & Nugget all laid today and we had 2 from the little ones as well. As we came back from walkies with Puppy this morning Flossy was standing on her ladder clucking loudly and sure enough there was an egg. A little later noticed Ginger had gone in the coop and checking after she’d left there was another! Go girls 🐓🐓
